The biggest factor: volume
More than anything else, the volume you're moving determines the cost. A studio apartment costs a fraction of a four-bedroom house to move. This is why a survey — in person or by video — is the starting point for an accurate quote.
Full load vs part load
A dedicated full load reserves a whole vehicle for your consignment. You pay for the vehicle and the crew's time, so it's the higher-cost option — but it's faster and more predictable.
A part load shares vehicle space with other consignments on the same route. You pay for the space you use, making it the more economical choice for smaller moves. The trade-off is delivery timing on a scheduled service.
Packing
Professional packing adds to the cost but protects your belongings for an international journey. You can reduce it by packing your own boxes and having us handle just the furniture, or by choosing partial packing for fragile items only.
Storage
If your dates don't align, storage on either side of the channel adds a weekly or monthly cost. It's often a worthwhile investment to avoid a rushed, poorly timed move.
Distance and access
The collection and delivery points matter. A move from the South East to the Costa Blanca is more straightforward than one from a remote Scottish village to an inland Spanish town. Access — narrow lanes, apartment blocks, parking — also affects the time and equipment needed.
Getting an accurate quote
The only way to know the real cost of your move is a written quote based on a survey. Ballpark figures online are rarely reliable. Request a free quote and we'll survey your volume and give you a clear, itemised estimate.
